The beauty of a chilled rosé is that it is easy to drink and often food-friendly, pairing well with so many dishes. That is especially true of this elegant rosé from Bonny Doon Vineyards in California. It’s a whisper of pink in the glass, a smart combination of grapes, including grenache, mourvedre, rousanne, cinsaut, carignane and granache blanc. This is a wine treated with a light hand. And what a bargain. You’ll find it priced anywhere from $12 to $15. Call ahead, and If 2013 Vin Gris de Cigare is not on the shelf at your store, simply tell them the distributor is Michael Skurnik. They should have it for you in 24 hours. I’d drink this any time of year. (Thanks to Frank’s on The Guilford Green for recommending this one to Faith.)
Update: We learned the 2013 is no longer available and the 2015 is currently sold out. That’s what happens when a wine is this good. The next vintage, we learned on Bonny Doon Vineyard’s website, will be ready in the spring of 2017.
