While we know it’s not in our $15 and under category, cheers for Palmer Vineyards Cabernet Franc Reserve, 2010, at about $29. It’s a red that’s great with beef and lovely in the mouth, a combination of aged grapes that start with a fade and become deep and lingering in the glass. This wine is local, made by an Argentinian winemaker on the nearby North Fork of Long Island, which reminds Faith of the old Sonoma wine country in California. We tried this with our beef sauerbrauten and it was a lovely match, though we can see it paired with any beef you like. Online at palmervineyards.com. (They ship, or you can ferry over for the fun of it and pick it up.)
