I adore making flavored popcorn of all kinds, using truffle salt, freshly grated cheese, bacon salt, curry powder, or an inexpensive Mexican spice blend called Tajin, made from dried lime zest and salt. But if you’re a chocolate-lover, I hope you’ll try my favorite way to make what I call Choco-Drizzled Popcorn.
All you need to make this is popcorn, salt, dark chocolate, a plastic baggie and a baking tray. (Doing this with kids is especially fun.)
Make a batch of popcorn and spread it across a large wax paper-lined baking tray. Then chop about a half-cup of your favorite dark chocolate, place it in a heat-safe bowl, and set it on top of a saucepan of simmering water until the chocolate melts. Use a spatula to put the warm melted chocolate into a baggie. Squeeze the bag until the chocolate is settled in one of its bottom corners, then snip off a tiny piece of the corner end with scissors. Squeeze the bag enough so that a steady stream of chocolate emerges and drizzle it all over the popcorn in the tray. Sprinkle on some sea salt, wait five minutes (if you can stand it) and enjoy.
