A Refreshing, Affordable White Wine We Like

Saint SulpiceThe wine market has several white bordeaux wines to choose from, but they’re what I call “plonk,” not worth the bottles they’re poured in. That’s why we were excited by this find from Mark Raymond of Frederick Wildman & Sons Distributors. A whisper of grapefruit, well-balanced with grapes that soften it and add structure, resulting in a very drinkable summer white for around $15. Bring on the grilled fish, chicken, vegetables, and more. (The same vineyard was featured previously because it makes a great red; clearly they know what they’re doing.)

Chateau St. Sulpice, around $15.

Tip: Call ahead to your wine store, and if this is not in stock, tell them it’s distributed by Frederick Wildman. They should have it to you within 24 hours. Thanks to our frequent contributor Mark Raymond for his insider tip on this great sipper. — FM
