When she’s not overseeing things at South Lane Bistro in Guilford, Conn, Ariel Miller is creating healthy recipes for herself and her family. That’s how she came up with a salad of fresh spinach, fresh grapefruit sections, and sliced avocado, dressed with her favorite balsamic reduction from Whole Foods (no corn syrup.)
It’s a wonder Ariel has time to cook anything at home, considering the growing popularity of South Lane, down the alley just opposite The Green in Guilford. This winter, there’s been a run on seats on the porch, where a gas fire feels warming, along with the blankets tossed across the back of every diner’s chair. The burger is a favorite, and so are the fish tacos, but recently Faith tried an old fashioned turkey dinner with gravy, stuffing and a cranberry compote. Pure comfort on a freezing night.
