Award-Winning Red Wine: A Perfect Price and Match for Grilled Cheese and Pizza

If you live in Southwest France and drink wine, you know the reds made by Jean-Luc Baldes. Uncomplicated, lovely, and priced well at around $15 a bottle. Thanks to local distributor Winebow and our pal Donna Hutchinson, our crowd has easy access to Mr. Baldes’ 2011 Esprit de Flore, a Malbec with a touch of Merlot added for softness. Breathe it in and you might catch the whiff of strawberries or cranberries, as fancy tasters do. Whatever. We drink it because we like it and find it to be great with all kinds of things, from grilled cheese to pizza.

Call ahead to your wine store, and if Esprit de Flore 2011 is not on the shelf, they will contact the distributor, Winebow, and should have it for you in 24 hours. Happy Drinking! — FM
