From Faith: Attention, chocolate-lovers… there’s a bar you might like as much as I do. I like it enough to avert my eyes as I walk past the rack of bars in the market calling out to me. I like it enough to think how lovely it will be to get up the next morning because I start my day with a square (or two) of this chocolate.
Created in Switzerland and distributed nationally by Alter Eco in San Francisco, the Dark Salted Brown Butter organic chocolate bar is certified fair trade and organic. It’s silky and at least 70 percent Equadorian cacao, mixed with sweet pasteurized butter (later browned) from heritage Swiss cows. But that’s not where this bar’s biography ends… the geniuses who created this add a touch of Fleur de Sel de Guerande (sea salt) to make it… um… well, the truth is they’ve made it completely addictive. Did I mention zero trans fats? Soy-free? Gluten-free? No GMO or artificial flavors?

Jeannie,
I’ve been searching all over the area for these bars but no luck. The company seems to distribute every other bar it makes in our region, but the Brown Butter bar is missing in action, sadly. I bought mine in NYC. AS soon as I find a regional source I’ll be back on line with the name of the store. Cheers, Faith

Apologies – the hyperlink was so light it barely showed on my computer. I found the source for the Brown Butter Chocolate Bars.
