Cherry/Olive Pitter Does Double Duty

It’s one of the most handy tools in any kitchen: a cherry pitter that can also be used to pit olives. While you can spend a fair amount on the Cadillac version, almost any hardware store offers one in aluminum for just a few dollars. Or, you can spend zero by doing what Senior Producer Lori Mack does: “Place a cherry or an  olive at the top of an empty wine bottle and press down on the fruit’s top with a chop stick. The pit exits the bottom, falling inside the bottle for easy clean-up. Remember to save those chop sticks from your Chinese and Japanese take-out.”
