Eating in Maine: Try Cafe Miranda

If you’re thinking of a weekend getaway and you’re anywhere near Rockland, Maine, our pal Bill Curry of Farmington, Connecticut says you’ll find the best food ever at Café Miranda. Apparently, Bill haunts the place, not far from his little seaside cottage. “Honest to god this is the best food of my life,” he told me. “The first time I ate there I marched into the kitchen at the end of the meal and asked the chef, who in the world ARE you?!” The chef in question is Kerry Altiero. “The onion,” Bill said, getting all moony. “I mean it was just an onion…but it was ethereal. They guy’s a genius. Simple as that.” Damn you, Curry! Look how hungry you’ve made me. We’ll be looking for the chef’s new cookbook, arriving soon, so more to follow, but, wait…you know, Bill, you could drive it all here.– Faith
