The marquis lights blazed outside Boston’s Symphony Hall the night of Nov. 5th, while inside every one of the historic concert venue’s 3,000 seats was occupied for the premiere of Ina Garten’s new national book tour.
Faith was invited to serve as Boston host for the evening, and conducted a spirited conversation with Garten on stage about her new book, Make It Ahead, and her life in the food world. Make It Ahead is a collection of recipes designed to be better because the ingredients have been put together in advance.
“Ina Garten was, as always, informative, charming and witty,” says Faith. “And the atmosphere was electric. The rafters shook with the crowd’s enthusiasm for her.”
Among the interesting things learned during the evening is that Ina Garten is now a global phenomenon. Her Food Network show, Barefoot Contessa, airs in 14 countries. Her largest markets are the U.S., Britain, Canada, and, surprisingly, The Phillipines.
Ina Garten continues her tour in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other select cities.
