And More Food Art…

Pam Van Zandt
Pam Van Zandt

From Faith: Trained baristas can make beautiful leaf patterns on the top of your espresso, but that’s child’s play compared to the image that appeared all by itself on Pam Van Zandt’s morning coffee mug. Perhaps you, too, are reminded of the woman who attracted crowds, according to media reports, when she claimed to see the face of Jesus in her stove-top tortilla mixture.

We asked VanZandt, a Food Schmooze listener in the Hamptons, what she thought when she noticed the image on her cup, and she had one word for us, “Yikes!”

While you’re enjoying the carefully lit studio work of Barry Seidman and his vegetables, VanZandt’s experience suggests we might also embrace the art of spontaneity — though she did think she heard a faint moan when she washed the mug.
