If you see this 2013 French white wine on a restaurant wine list, order it, or drink it at home; it’s remarkably food-friendly and a delicious on-the-porch wine. At $15 and under at most wine stores, what a bargain! It’s called Parallel 45, and it’s made in the Cotes du Rhone region of France.
It’s the blend of grapes that makes it special — grenache, Marsanne, Viognier, and Bourboulenc.
Call ahead to your wine store to see if it’s on the shelf, and if not, tell them the importer is Frederick Wildman & Sons. They should have it at your store within 24 hours. We love this with light pasta, chicken, fish of all kinds, pork, and it’s great for sipping before a meal or on the front step. — Alex Province
