If you loved the Spanish restaurant Ibiza in New Haven, you might have reason for hope. There is a sign in the restaurant’s former High Street window announcing an application for a liquor permit. The single name on the permit is that of Ibiza’s former talented chef, Manual Romero. A search of the public records shows no other name listed for the LLC that has filed.
A big question on the minds of foodie fans of the place is whether Juan Carlos Gonzalez is also involved again, since he was a visionary leader at the previous restaurant, an extraordinary taste master in all things food and wine. Fingers crossed.
In other restaurant news, sadly, Franco and Suzette Camacho have closed their downtown Branford restaurant Beach + Barn.
