Ingredients
For the syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup washed, ripe sweet strawberries, chopped (Green removed from top)
  • 1/2 cup water
For the cocktail
  • 1 ounce Tempus Fugit creme de cacao
  • 1 ounce fresh strawberry syrup
  • sparkling white wine
  • lemon peel for garnish
Servings: cocktail
Instructions
Make the syrup
  1. In a sauce pan combine sugar and strawberries stir to coat the strawberries with the sugar. Turn heat to medium and add water. Keep stirring until the water is just about to boil. Reduce heat to simmer. Keep stirring until the strawberries are soft. Remove from heat and let mixture cool to room temp.
  2. Strain into a container and cover. Keep in the refrigerator and it will last over a month.
Assemble the cocktail
  1. Combine creme de cacao and strawberry syrup in a champagne flute and top with chilled sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon peel.
