What a job the guy undertook — to travel to diners across New England, real places making praise-worthy home-cooked meals often created by the owners.

Mike tasted creamy scallop chowder, Dottie’s donuts, meatloaf with mashed potatoes, rich mac and cheese, and delectable corn-laced Johnnycakes, to name a few.
