Use Your Waffle Iron for Crispy Tofu

Finally there’s another reason to go head first into the kitchen cabinets looking for the waffle iron… way in the back. Daniel Shumski, who’s a waffle iron guru, has a great tip for using the appliance to crisp up tofu. He says “the waffle iron crisps the tofu on both sides without the need for flipping or turning.” It also eliminates the need for oil, since there’s no frying involved. You can see the full story about this “low mess, low effort,” method at Serious Eats.

Want more ideas for cooking with a waffle iron? He’s got plenty… 53, to be exact, in his book Will It Waffle?
