On the show we like this summer red for anything grilled, charred or slow-cooked, like beef, lamb, barbecue or brisket. That red is from France and it’s called Domaine le Clos des Lumieres, from the Cotes du Rhone region. Just say the name at your wine store, and be sure to tell them on the phone that the Importer is Winebow — this enables them to have it for you within 24 hours. (We’re trying to save you from an extra trip.) Now here’s a tip… Faith and Alex Province use this wine even for grilled shrimp and chicken and Alex says its divine as the base for Alex’s sangria recipe. The trick is chilling this red in the summer; trust us, it’s really good that way! This red Rhone is 70 percent grenache and 30 percent syrah grapes, with 14 percent alcohol. So it’s both sturdy and friendly, the way we want a friend to be. Enjoy!
