Ct. inventors Bonnie Tyler and Shelia Torgan created The NEGG™, a plastic container that, when shaken with a quarter cup of water, peels most of the peel off of a hard-cooked egg. The rest of the shell slips off, taking the depression out of making a batch of devilled eggs. It all became a reality, apparently, because Bonnie and Shelia started a Kickstarter campaign, hoping to raise about $7,000. Last time we checked, the pair had raised $32,000, and production of their invention is in full swing.
Yes, it’s true, you can somewhat duplicate the effect with water and a mason jar, but the duo say they’ve got the size and geometry of their plastic device just right. It’s available at neggmaker.com for $17.99.
