The Best New Gluten-Free Beer You Can Buy

new belgium_glutinygoldenWe’re always on the lookout for ingredients and products designed to amp up the pleasure quotient for food- and drink-loving Food Schmoozers® who navigate the food landscape with food allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

We introduced you to Carla Bartolucci and einkorn, devoted an entire show to Robert Landolphi’s gluten-free recipes, and offered up lots of options for paleo eaters.

Our latest find for gluten-free eaters (and drinkers!) comes from Chris Prosperi and Alex Province. Crafted to reduce gluten, Glütiny Golden Ale is Faith’s new favorite beer. Produced by Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing, the ale is fresh and clean-tasting with a beautiful head. Glütiny Golden Ale is now available in CT. Their gluten-removal process is unique in that you’ll get all the barley malt-derived flavor you expect from a beer, but without all the gluten. You can learn more about the science behind gluten removal by visiting their site.

Speaking of science, we tried an experiment of our own. It’s been in the 90s the past couple of weeks, so what’s a beer lover to do? Faith decided to freeze beer in ice cube trays to answer the question: How can we keep our beers ice cold without watering them down? See the results in this fun video and listen to the show to learn how to make your own beer ice cubes (and perhaps turn them into dessert!).
