The Negroni is a classic cocktail. If you want to put a whimsical twist on a classic, Anthony DeSerio is your guy. Or, your bartender, if you’re lucky. For this week’s easy cocktail, Anthony mixes up a Negroni suspended in strawberry-rhubarb Jell-O shots set in orange peels. We’re calling it the Don Corleone Negroni, not because it was a cocktail we couldn’t refuse (though, indeed, we could not) but because, well. . .you know the scene.
These shimmering slices brought much merriment to the studio. We knocked elbows angling in on the plate to get the perfect glassy slice. Then we audibly slurped them right off their peels.
Best Jell-O shots ever.
Use a very sharp knife to cut your Jell-O shot "cups" into slices. If you use a steak knife or serrated bread knife, the presentation will be compromised and the Corleone family would not approve.
