From Faith — Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday of the year. We’ve assembled a truckload of Thanksgiving dishes we adore, along with instructions on how to make them.
Our mission, first and foremost, has been to select what tastes truly divine. We brought in our own time-tested recipes, asked trusted friends for theirs, and consulted cookbook authors and magazine editors. Some of our recipes are originals you won’t find anywhere else.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with such a fun-loving and talented group on the show. Our greatest pleasure is discovering what’s utterly delicious and sharing it with you.
We wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving!

I LOVE your show!!! I listen every Wednesday evening. What I love best is its radio and your words bring vivid pictures to life in my mind. Keep up the great work !!!

Gladys, what a sweet think to say, and it has extra meaning for me. Once theater director Lloyd Richards said to me that he could never mount a real production to match what the human mind creates on its own. Happy Holidays, Gladys. Best, Faith

I really like your show. You and your crew are always so enthusiastic about literally every dish that it becomes infectious. I find myself smiling along when you all are chuckling about some new item or the latest indulgence you’ve tried (or want to try), and notice my mouth watering as I listen to the obvious passion you all bring to your food descriptions.
I don’t see in the list of Thanksgiving Recipes a couple that you mentioned on your show today (11/19/14) — Chris Prosperi’s butter-laden mashed potatoes, and your own uncooked Brussels sprouts dish. Could you add them to the list?
Faith Middleton says
Art, I’m not sure why my answer to you did not appear…holiday gremlins at work, no doubt. Hope you can see that the potatoes from Chris Prosperi are posted for all to see. By the way, he browns the butter first, meaning he melts it in a pan on the stovetop until it turns light brown and gives off the aroma of toasted nuts. Truly decadent. And fabulous. Happy Thanksgiving! — Faith

Hi Faith, I listen every Wednesday on my drive home from work. Was trying to find Chris’ recipes for both make ahead turkey gravy and mashed potatoes which were discussed today. Is that posted somewhere?
Also, I am not a serious cook, more of a baker, and I greatly appreciated today’s tips on mashed potatoes. Now I know why my potatoes sometime have a gluey texture.
With appreciation, Gwen

Got them both Faith! Thanks again to you and the entire crew. I am sure my family will love these changes to our thanksgiving meal! Gwen

I loved your last show so much I am going to try to make the cranberry sauce for the first time this year, sans the brandy…and I am replacing the pumpkin pie with tart! Cannot wait to add these two items to our menu.
Thanks so much!
Kath

Kath, That’s just great! I really loved the tart and the cranberry sauce, although you might want to hold on the final menu until you see Chris Prosperi’s crazy good mashed potatoes! It will be posted tomorrow. Thanks for partying with us. Happy Holidays and cheers! — Faith

Thank you, Doretta. I’ll ask our folks to check in on it immediately. It’s the recipe I’m bringing to my sister’s Thanksgiving. Happy Holiday and Cheers! — Faith

Thanks, Faith & Schmoozers!
I’m done winging it with regard to the mashed potatoes and the gravy.
Big help!
Faith Middleton says
John, Chris’s decadent mashed potato recipe is on the page. Enjoy. Cheers! — Faith

Doretta, it is working for all of us. Perhaps you’ll try again? Cheers! –Faith
Richard Hicks says
I made the twice baked sweet potato recipe, and it was so good! Not overwhelmingly sweet, but with just the right touch of seasoning. Faith, I’ve been listening to you since you first came on CPR, and the food schmooze is one of my favorite shows. Also, best regards to Marion Roy (we were on the same teaching staff for a spell).
Faith Middleton says
Richard, so glad you enjoyed them! And big thanks for the kind words. Keep on cooking! — Faith
